Food Manufacturing

A food manufacturing company are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer working a 4 on 4 off days & nights shift pattern. You will be responsible for conducting maintenance on a daily basis, to machinery and associated plant and ancillary equipment, along with supporting and mentoring Apprentices and newly qualified Engineers.

As a Maintenance Engineer your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of:

  • Ensure the Engineering maintenance is carried out in line with the schedule.
  • Quick and effective response to breakdowns, where possible identifying root cause and suggesting possible improvements to prevent further breakdowns occurring.
  • Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Production Manager and work with operations to minimise production downtime or disruption.
  • Mentor newly qualified Maintenance Engineers as well as Apprentices.
  • Follow the communicated escalation route for unscheduled downtime and minimise downtime by following a good engineering practice.
  • Demonstrate basic problem solving techniques to identify root cause of issues.
  • Timely reporting of any Health and Safety and Environmental Issues. 
  • Follow good engineering standards and hygiene practice for the department
  • Raise Stock and Non-Stock request forms.

An exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer with the following.

  • Apprenticeship in Engineering within mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experienced working within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment, with experience working on processing and fast paced machinery.
  • Confident in electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
  • Ability to fault find on PLC’s and automation equipment.
  • Previous experience of mentoring or training Apprentices and newly qualified Engineers.
  • Working hours are 4 on 4 off days & Nights.
