A Maintenance Engineer is currently required for a leading specialist Precision Fabrication and Welding organisation that operate across highly-regulated industries. Based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire our client is an innovative specialist that’s been established for over 40 years’ and is part of a world-leading group of European high-tech engineering companies. Working with global companies and OEMs to deliver advanced high performance vessels and structures using stainless steel, copper and high purity aluminium, our client delivers cutting edge technologies for industries including Healthcare, Nuclear and Renewables, with further capabilities and insights targeted in the Transport & Rail sectors.
Due to continued company growth and investment we are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to support the Production Manager in ensuring that the plant, machinery and equipment meets agreed standards of performance and to comply with the Company’s policies and procedures. Your goal will be to reduce down time with a key focus on preventive maintenance schedules and implement this on all equipment.
The key tasks & accountabilities for this role would be:
- To work closely with production teams, Facilities Coordinator, Safety Coordinator and the Engineering Department to carry out any servicing, repairs and maintenance to agreed and accepted Company standards, and to enable production on the machines to meet agreed performance standards, and quality of product to be manufactured within specification.
- Ensure the fast resolution of any breakdowns, and to ensure safety, optimize machine efficiency and minimize waste levels. To be flexible enough to work, out of contractual hours as necessary to fulfil the needs of your role to work away from the site if required and to be pro-active in avoiding downtime by initiating and necessary improvement measures prior to failure.
- To monitor the performance of the machinery and equipment and then suggest new projects or working practices to ensure continual improvement in health and safety, quality, performance and the general functioning of the site. - To ensure that any routine day to day Maintenance tasks and priorities is agreed with the Shift Supervisor, Planning lead or Production Manager, as appropriate.
We are seeking an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer with Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatics experience. You ideally be apprenticeship trained and will hold the relevant engineering qualifications. You will be experienced in fault diagnosis/breakdown repairs on automated plant machinery/equipment and have a proven background with PLC control systems. You will be an advocate of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems and will be able to communicate with all levels within the organisation. Candidates with experience within Welding and Fabrication industries would be very well received.
This role will be working a rotating day-shift pattern of 07:00 to 15:00 & 10:00 to 18:00 (Monday to Friday).
