£36,000 inclusive of shift allowance plus Overtime & Benefits

A large food manufacturing company are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to work 4 on 4 off days & nights shift pattern. You will be responsible for supporting the engineering team on reactive and preventative maintenance. A mechanical bias with an understanding of maintenance on machinery where you’re looking to develop your career.

If you’re a Skilled Machine Operative or Junior Maintenance Engineer this position will offer you development and training within a large engineering team.

As a Maintenance Engineer your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of.

• Reporting into the Engineering Team Leader you will ensure engineering maintenance carried out in line with the schedule and efficient corrective action is taken.
• Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager or Principal Engineer and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption.
• Follow the communicated escalation route for unscheduled plant downtime and minimise downtime by following a good engineering practice.
• Timely reporting of any Health and Safety and Environmental Issues 
• Demonstrate basic problem solving techniques to identify root cause of issues.
• Raise Stock and Non-Stock request forms.

An exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer  with the following.

• Machine Operative or Technical Operator experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Someone who’s keen to develop or progress in a career in engineering
•  Experience in Engineering with a background of making adjustments on machines
• Knowledge of likely breakdowns and causes for machines.
• Fabrication and welding experience desirable.
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbally.
