Magnesium & Cross Car Beams Subject Matter Expert
LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire

A Magnesium & Cross Car Beams Subject Matter Expert is required to work for a leading automotive OEM based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

The Role:

This is an exciting role where you will join as the Subject Matter Expert for Magnesium Casting and Cross Car Beams; you'll be the 'go to' person for any design or feasibility issues with magnesium cross car beams. You will guide the rest of the cross car beam team, including project/lead engineers and CAD design engineers; and provide support to module teams, ensuring that designs for cross car beams are tooling feasible.

You will develop advanced feature strategies and lead content delivery across programmes, as well as exposure to a variety of components, systems, suppliers and functions; playing a key part in driving robustness and quality into the team.

You can expect to define and design activities, and interface with the engineering, purchasing, programmes, marketing and manufacturing functions; whilst also liaising with suppliers and support existing programmes for tooling issues with in-production parts and any running change design requests. Additionally, you'll manage system compatibility issues and support system strategy development for components and features.

Experienced Required:
With a passion for automotive technology, you will have a reputation as a Subject Matter Expert in Magnesium Casting Design or Cross Car Beams, ideally gained within the automotive industry. Your experience and ability in transferring knowledge to other members of the team will be invaluable; you will have a good working knowledge of product creation and delivery and will have used CAD visualisation tools, too. Also have experience of leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a project environment.
