Lead Quality Engineer
Reporting to the Group Quality Manager, this Lead Quality Engineer will take responsibility for incoming vehicle inspection and final product quality before vehicles are shipped.
In conjunction with the plant leadership you will provide quality assurance support to customers, suppliers and internal colleagues - participating in continuous improvement activities in key areas. This is key role, as part of the site team, and includes the responsibility to support the creation and delivery of the systems and the strategy across all areas of the company which will involve regular communication with the Executive Team.
As well as providing Quality customer interface and expertise to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, the Lead Quality Engineer will be a proven team leader and strategic thinker from the automotive or related industry who has the knowledge and background experience to support a broad based quality and business function creating and delivering to plan.
Key duties will include;
Ensuring Group adherence and ongoing certification to international Quality and Environmental Standards including but not limited to IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015
Overseeing the testing of materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all industry and internal company standards
Maintaining, refining and developing the new and current business systems
Provide quality leadership and guidance to the new business systems project teams
Assisting the Group Quality Manager develop the team to ensure the business objectives are achieved on time and to budget
Taking the lead on lean initiatives including meeting the company wide 5S targets and the introduction of Value Stream Mapping
Ensuring that company Quality related processes are harmonised and standardised to assist with compliance and improve efficiency
Playing a key part in a multi-functional team is a must for this role as is being action orientated and having good analytical skills to be able to convert business objectives into achievable tasks
The successful applicant for this role is very likely to;
Be able to demonstrate previously leading and delivering major quality and related system change in the automotive or related industry
An in depth and proven knowledge of ERP systems and QMS systems preferably in the automotive industry
A relevant degree or HND level of education in a relevant field
Be capable of leading management and staff to deliver the business plan
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all business levels
A high level of IT and QMS skills and knowledge
Possess the desire, drive and the character to achieve Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD)
