Lead EDS Engineer - Gaydon
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Lead EDS Design Engineer. The successful Lead EDS Engineer will be working for a specialist harness manufacturer who are the market leader in Europe and one of the world's premier providers of standardized and customer-specific wiring systems for the automotive industry. What you will do
As Lead EDS Engineer;
- Support the project team leader to ensure technical deliverables are achieved
- Technical lead for an assigned project, including giving overall technical direction to a small team of EDS engineers
- Ensure that technical direction, and delivered products are compliant with customer (SDS) and internal design standards
- Responsible for the validation and robustness of the delivered harness designs, including support for DVP reporting
- Ensure that technical direction is optimised for internal best practice, especially with regards to DFM and quality assurance
- Co-ordinate support for manufacturing
- Lead customer facing technical reviews, including presenting proposals, and negotiating preferred design solutions
What you will need
As Lead EDS Engineer;
- Demonstrable understanding of technical / engineering documentation (e.g. circuit diagrams and harness drawings.
- Educated to HND/degree level, in a relevant engineering discipline
- Demonstrable understanding of electrical principles, and vehicle electrical systems
- Ability to organise multiple workstreams and achieve parallel deliverables
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- Experience in a vehicle manufacturing environment, preferably in a design support role
- Knowledge of harness manufacturing processes and best practice in 'design for manufacture'
- Prepared to travel to Customer and Supplier sites worldwide
