Job Title - Lead Dimensional Maturation and Build Engineer

Hourly rate - £34.50 per hour

Industry - Automotive

Location - Warwickshire

An opportunity has arisen to work for this luxury automotive OEM based in the Warwickshire area. As Lead Dimensional Maturation and Build Engineer you will take lead engineer responsibility for a small team of engineers, and ensure the objectives and deliverables assigned and agreed by the team are met.

You'll be accountable for the dimensional integrity of BIW assemblies and Body structures.

You will actively promote efficient departmental development actions and process improvements, continuing the journey towards dimensional excellence.

Your department leads the analysis and problem solving for all body assembly dimensional issues and is a major stake holder in other dimensional issues associated with Body and Trim.

Beginning each project at the clay model phase, you and your team will work closely with our talented Product Design team, playing a key part in optimising styling and design for dimensional robustness.

You will then move in to the Pre-launch phase, where you will lead your team through each of the virtual release gateways, reporting out up to senior management level on manufacturing feasibility and robustness.

During prototype and delivery phases, you will lead your team through a broad range of key duties - from commissioning activities on BIW assembly tooling, through to analysing dimensional reports on incoming parts, tooling and assembly. At this stage you will be required to present action plans for improving the dimensional integrity of body structure and report out on body dimensional performance at regular process chain meetings and senior project reviews.
