We are seeking two Clay Modellers for a 6 month rolling contract. Tata Motors Design, comprising three global design centres including state of the art studio at the NAIC at the University of Warwick (UK), Pune (India) and Turin (Italy), is pivotal in the creation and delivery of the future of Tata Motors passenger and commercial vehicles. With the recent success of the Nexon, Altroz and Tiago, it is strengthening its global team with highly creative and driven design professionals to shape the future of Indian motoring.
Candidates with excellent clay modelling proficiency will:
Read and interpret sketches and renders as well as technical drawings and CAD data
Lead project clay models and manage a team of up to four clay modellers
Support the clay modelling manager with the timing proposals and delivery of 3D physical clay models
Coordinate with other lead modellers in the allocation an organisation of CNC milling heads and resources between active projects
Support the clay modelling manager with the delivery of exterior interior and scale 3D physical design properties
Work directly with the relevant design team to develop design properties for design reviews
Support the designers with feasible solutions to design proposals
Be able to utilise studio CMM equipment
Have a good eye for design proportions and are able to work to a high standard on intricate models
Work directly with the ALIAS modelling and studio engineering teams to develop and increase model feasibility
To support clay modelling manage are in the everyday running of the studio and studio stores
Support clay modelling manager in the production of timing and resource plans
Maintain model history pack
Candidate Requirements;
Significant automotive OEM and or satellite studio modelling experience is essential
Motivated with excellent attention to detail
Proficient in the use of all woodworking machines (hard modelling skills are desirable)
Excellent housekeeping skills ensuring they work safely and efficiently
Able to plan and prioritise own workload
CMM studio milling machine operation skills are essential
