Title: Junior Technician
Division: Research & Development
Contract Position based at: READING SCIENTIFIC SERVICES LTD (RSSL)
** Junior technician Ingredient Research - based in Reading **
- To be responsible for assessing the performance of different flour grains with respect to the resultant dough rheology and bake quality in an AACC cookie recipe.
- Assisting with the aliquoting of cocoa liquors for the purpose of managing a tasting programme remotely with other team members.
- Contributing to the HACCP procedures and general running of the innovation kitchen based in Reading.
Prioritisation of tasks as some will be time limited. Be comfortable communicating on line. Ability to follow instructions, Attention to detail. Ability to manage Excel spread sheets, accurate measurement taking - weights etc , some statistical understanding would be useful and an ability to work with JMP.
Some knowledge of food safe procedures and working in a way compliant with HACCP procedures.
Experience in either baking or chocolate making.
Degree/HNC level in a food science or closely related subject.
Masters - food and or nutrition.
