A Junior Project Engineer is required to support the delivery of projects within the automated assembly and special purpose equipment arena. Candidates with experience in mechanical design and project delivery within the special purpose machine build, automated assembly and/or jigs and fixtures industry would be well received.

Due to continued growth this company, a world class manufacturer of bespoke assembly and automated equipment based in Birmingham requires a committed and proactive Junior Project Engineer who can provide design support and coordination in the delivery of bespoke automated assembly equipment, production lines and special purpose machinery reporting into the Project Lead to ensure timing plans and gateways are achieved. As a Junior Project Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Support the Project Lead in providing design activities within the modification of equipment and systems to meet the client's requirements
  • Aid in the coordination and running of projects to ensure quality standards, timing plans and design concepts are realized
  • Take control financially and with regards to engineering of a project from design stage to commissioning and onto to handover to the client
  • Liaise with Engineering, Design and Manufacturing to pull together all resources
  • Work with PM in the designing, quotation, winning and delivery of new projects providing additional support to ensure customer satisfaction through the life cycle of the project

The Junior Project Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

  • Strong Mechanical Design background within special purpose equipment, automation, assembly processes and/or jigs & fixtures
  • In coordinating all commercial activities and project timing plans to ensure project deliverables are achieved within budgetary and quality constraints
  • Assisting in project quotation and proposals for new business within the automotive, aerospace and/or automation industries
