Our Client, one of the world's leading automotive consultancies based in Northamptonshire is looking for a Junior Powertrain Development Project Engineer to conduct analysis and testing activities relating to research and customer projects.

Working together with analysis, design, development, calibration and research engineers, you will plan, supervise and support any analytical, design or experimental activities ultimately driving solutions for a flawless customer experience. You will be given responsibility from day one and will actively participate in live projects allowing you to get invaluable exposure to a selection of engineering disciplines. This broad experience will help you to find your desired career path in engineering or management.

Expectations of this role

  • To analyse results, prepare technical reports and create test plans
  • To design parts for development testing
  • To liaise with program suppliers, internal and external customers
  • To support the preparation of engineering program quotations
  • To support in the preparation of technical papers and presentations
  • Responsible for the quality of the data, results analysis and reporting
  • Supervision of less experienced staff
  • Participate in research programmes
  • Contribute to planning of future research activities

Ideal candidate

  • A BEng or MEng in Engineering preferably with 12 months' industry experience, ideally gained within an engine, drivetrain or test environment
  • Knowledge of general engineering fundamentals coupled with sound numerical and analytical skills
  • Confidence to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Able to supervise the work of others and to work as part of a team
  • You must be self-motivated and possess the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Familiarisation with simulation and data analysis software or instrumentation techniques and hardware would be an advantage
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK
