Title: IT Project Management Office Lead

Division: Information Technology

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Rate: - up to £28.12/hr Ltd (which equals £22.01/hr PAYE rate) - INSIDE IR35

Position Description:

This role is to provide secondment cover for one of our IT PMO Leads. The contractor is expected to be part of any JLR furloughs.

  • Provides guidance on project governance procedures, processes and tools.
  • Ensures IT Projects comply with the JLR IT Governance Framework
  • Develops, interprets and presents IT management information reports to operational and senior stakeholders to inform key business decision making
  • Uses project reporting information as an early warning system to highlight projects that may need support / other interventions
  • Maintains productive partnerships to bring innovative solutions and best practice ideas into the business areas
  • Ensures the timely closure of projects, including financial and reporting elements
  • Attends lessons learned reviews and ensures these are captured and embedded in relevant changes to organisational systems, tools and processes
  • Ensures any Domain staff involved in projects undertake an appropriate PMO induction including use of PMO tools, processes, methods and frameworks

Skills Required:

3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

  1. Proven experience as PMO lead, or Project Management role, ideally gained within a large, complex organisation
  2. Proven strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and nurture relationships internally with stakeholders, and able to be both supportive and able to hold the business to account.
  3. Ability to multi-task, work accurately at speed and under pressure balancing delivery of conceptual work with attention to detail and hands on delivery

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as PMO lead, or Project Management role, ideally gained within a large, complex organisation
  • Ability to multi-task, work accurately at speed and under pressure balancing delivery of conceptual work with attention to detail and hands on delivery
  • Proven strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and nurture relationships internally with stakeholders, and able to be both supportive and able to hold the business to account.
  • Strong analytical IT background, project management and delivery skills
  • Strong analytical skills supported by advanced communication and presentation skills - used to translate IT related issues for operational teams

Experience Preferred:

  • Continuous improvement "mind set" with the ability to identify and implement robust solutions and enhancements
  • Knowledge and experience of Planview's Enterprise One toolset for Project & Portfolio Management would be a benefit.
  • Knowledge of Agile and understanding of agile ways of working.

Education Required:

Qualified Skills Framework for the Information Age at level 3 (or higher) or working towards

CAPM, PMP or PRINCE2/ PMO equivalent qualification
