HSE Officer

HSE Officer - Warwickshire - Aerospace Manufacturer - Attractive - Permanent

An HSE Officer is required to join an innovative aerospace manufacturing facility on a permanent basis. The successful HSE Officer will join the Health & Safety Department, reporting to the General Manager and work closely with the Functional Line Manager and Facilities & Maintenance Manager. The HSE Officer will ensure the business is legally compliant with all health, safety and environmental legislation and the HSE Officer will also advise Managers and Cell Leaders on its statutory obligations.

Responsibilities and Experience Required of the HSE Officer

  • Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policy's and Regulations
  • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered
  • Regularly review, update and communicate these policies
  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory and group obligations in all areas pertaining to HSE
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, and recommended improvements implemented
  • Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures
  • Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained
  • Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks
  • Liaise with external consultants and authorities in the provision of HSE services
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & environmental legislation
  • Communicate relevant HSE changes to the business
  • Provide monthly, quarterly KPI's to group
  • Ensure compliance to ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and group standards
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time

Qualifications & Requirements of the HSE Officer

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent (Grade C +)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Working within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of managing and working with HSE management systems
  • Work collaboratively with the ability to influence where necessary
  • Able to work on own initiative and have Good communications skills
  • Able to communicate at shop floor level and in more senior/strategic meetings
  • Able to make presentations
  • Focused with attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic with a Customer focus
  • Self-motivated and a Team player
  • Transparent in dealings with others

Basic Security Clearance may be required due to the nature of the Products being Manufactured
