As part of a global manufacturing group, this organisation is forward thinking and works in partnership with a large range of customers providing them with state of the art, safe, reliable and quality products.

With an ever-increasing order book, the business is on a very stable footing and will continue to do so, even within a changing European landscape.

We have been asked to assist in the recruitment of an exceptional Engineering Manager, one that will drive the engineering and manufacturing forward, looking at ways to improve process through solid engineering direction. Forming part of the senior management team, you will a highly influential people manager, developing and nurturing a strong engineering team around you, but providing guidance and counsel on all matters involving engineering, including process flow, engineering change and new product introduction.

Understanding and managing risk forms a huge part of the role, as the equipment being made is for the field and works under various hazardous conditions which need to be controlled always. A main area of responsibility is to get the business through various industry audits including ISO and CE.

You will be comfortable working in an environment which offers complex problems which will need to be solved quickly and effectively through your strong engineering background. Each vehicle worked on provides a different challenge depending on the customer requirement, so you will have the ability to work collaboratively with a wider team to develop strong solutions.
Ideally a Chartered Engineer, you will have the aptitude to question, challenge and to deliver solutions. Other key areas of responsibility are:

  • Management of capital expenditure.
  • Management of new and existing installations and equipment.
  • Management of risk and compliance, including audit accreditation's.
  • Planned and preventive maintenance.
  • Team leadership and people management

We are keen to talk to Engineers who want to experience a real, hands on managerial role, where your decisions will always make a positive impact to people and the products being manufactured.

The role will suit candidates that have perhaps worked in a low to medium, complex manufacturing environment, it could be that you have worked in a high quality, regulated small batch business, looking to make the next step.
