Title: Engineering Manager  

Location: Kidderminster  

Salary: Competitive Salary + Benefits  

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our client’s company, the role will be based at their new state of the art facility in Kidderminster, and will be managing their engineering department, the role will be responsible for all general management and upkeep of the engineering department along with project works.  

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for the general management and upkeep of the Engineering department
  • Responsible for projects and other engineering works, including scheduling, cost effective design, material procurement, instigation/control, and compilation of all associated contract documentation within agreed operational time and cost restraints
  • Responsible for the general management of the Engineering, Vessel, R&D and Technical teams within the Engineering department
  • Optimising Engineering performance through team building, staff morale & efficiency of systems
  • Managing the Engineering department to distribute priorities from the Projects Director
  • Managing the Engineering department to uphold the R&D KPIs, as set by the Technical Director

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the engineering of large projects
  • Jointly responsible for the engineering of smaller projects and Mod-Std contracts together with the Lead Engineer
  • Responsible for organising workload and distribution with the Lead Engineer for the Engineering department
  • Responsible for establishing project technical requirements/design brief
  • Responsible for attending KOM/PIM to attend to engineering/technical aspects, if required
  • Responsible for technical input and scheduling input in weekly project meetings
  • Responsible for project related technical problem solving and Engineering concession requests, if required
  • Responsible for Engineering department discipline, ensuring office working procedures are maintained & performance is upheld

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of HNC (Mech Eng.) with at least 5 years’ engineering experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ engineering management experience
  • Experience and keen interest in people management, training and team building
  • Passionate about innovation, engineering and development
