Job Title: Energy Projects Officer

Location: Nottingham

Salary: Negotiable Dependant on Experience

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Energy Projects Officer to work for our client at their Site in Nottingham. The role will be working within the Solar PV Team within the Energy Services division and will be assisting the delivery of renewable energy project, with a particular focus on Solar delivery, Asset Management and Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Service and Solar Projects Service Manager to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, to budget and to achieve the outcomes required
  • Provide assistance to project managers in managing day to day project operations and communications
  • Assist in managing project, budget, timeline and risks and reporting on variances
  • Provide project support by producing, submitting and managing renewable energy planning and grid connection applications
  • Provide technical support by identifying suitable buildings that would benefit from renewable technologies, such as solar PV, supporting and developing the commercialism agenda
  • Assist the project team by producing technical drawings showing the proposed solar PV design and potential output of the system(s) using CAD
  • Assist the solar projects team by designing systems using PV Sol (or equivalent) to assist in scheme and business case viability, which may include 3D modelling to understand shading
  • To assist in site visits for the purpose of designing systems and potential project risks
  • Provide assistance to the project team by arranging EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) and structural surveys
  • Analyse and report on the efficiency and performance of the clients renewable energy assets
  • To support on the design and maintenance of excel models that assist in business case analysis, such as PPA modelling
  • To support effective communication throughout the project, working closely with colleagues and clients/partners, ensuring that the project is on course for completion
  • Escalate major project discrepancies to the project manager on a timely basis and advise on corrective actions
  • Review and suggest controls on individual project risks
  • Assist in project reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Support the Head of Service and Project Managers in identifying any discrepancies in the legal, statutory and other relevant provisions governing or affecting allocated projects
  • To support the reporting of progress through Performance Management framework at Directorate and Corporate levels (Covalent), meeting all necessary reporting deadlines
  • Assist and help to implement, develop and continually review the content, size, usefulness and complexity of the energy portfolio
  • To help develop procedures around data gathering and control of data to enable management information to be presented
  • To analyse data and information from a wide variety of sources and to advise the management team in respect of service development accordingly
  • To collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues in Energy Services and undertake a coordinated and flexible role as necessary to meet the objectives of the wider service area
  • Undertake the administrative and organisational tasks essential to the post, using software packages - including word-processing, spreadsheets and databases - and systems and, where appropriate, developing systems that improve the efficiency of the section
  • Provide support and advice as required to ensure wider business continuity and emergency planning and undertake any other tasks which are reasonable as directed by the Head of Service
