Electrified Powertrain Test Engineer – 55097

Pay Rate: Up to £20.88/hr LTD rate (inside IR35). AWR rate increase applies after 12 weeks – rate will increase to £28.46/hr LTD.

Contract Position based at: Dunton

Position Description:

Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) is a key contributing organisation within this leading OEM as they transition from their historical product line-up of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) only, to a strong Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) powertrain offering.

This position arises at an enthralling time and your role within the team would involve you collaborating with partners, including Product Development, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Plants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide simultaneous engineering input to guide virtual equipment design concepts through to approval.
• Deploy and install flexible, agile, cost-effective battery manufacturing systems across Europe powertrain manufacturing systems through to product launch
• Develop Li-Ion & high-voltage battery safety skills and battery manufacturing techniques, and apply these to create ergonomic, efficient, and safe manufacturing facilities.
• Immerse yourself within our dynamic and flexible team as you contribute to the `can do attitude`.
• Create manufacturing feasibility, cost estimates and best practice input to shape our future powertrain solutions
• Support the continuous improvement of battery manufacturing systems and the introduction of new technologies globally

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Powertrain Assembly skills
• Manufacturing process/equipment knowledge High level of IT/ software skills including data acquisition.
• Experience in high volume Manufacturing role

Preferred:

• Extensive experience in high volume Manufacturing role
• High Voltage Battery product knowledge
• Industrial Robot or Camera systems knowledge
• 6 Sigma Trained.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or sufficient industry experience without degree.
