Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to work for our client at their facility in Wakefield, the role will be providing a high quality, comprehensive, accurate and timely electrical installation and wiring service for power unit build and assembly. This is an exciting role which would suit someone with hydraulic power unit experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To build and maintain a good working knowledge of industry wiring regulations, hydraulic power unit systems and their assembly methods, company products and services, customers and working practices, to perform the role efficiently and effectively.

  • To provide support across our two manufacturing sites in Gloucestershire and Cambridgeshire as required.

  • To contribute to the overall department objectives and plan by: Sharing information with others to enable them to fulfil their role, Using knowledge, information and skills in planning and working for the department and Sharing ideas and suggestions for improvements.

  • The role will also require you to provide a comprehensive, proactive, effective electrical installation and wiring service by agreeing relevant individual/personal objectives, targets and success criteria for assigned activities and own area of work such as:

    • Identifying and confirming job specifications from drawings and work instructions.

    • Consulting with design draughtsperson when correcting/amending drawings to meet specifications if required.

    • Assembling and wiring of control panel suites and boxes and electronic euroracks to agreed specification.

    • Assembling of ready wired boxes to customer specifications.

    • Modifying and assembling of electronic circuit boards to agreed specifications.

    • Carrying out functional testing on components to verify the quality and functionality to agreed specification.

    • Supporting the team by carrying out continuity and functional testing on power units.

    • Carrying out wiring of hydraulic units in preparation for testing.

    • Completing all necessary paperwork (SAP, rectification sheets, stores requisitions, job completion sheets) accurately and on time.

    • Checking current stock levels and informing team leaders of any shortages or requirements.

    • Supporting site maintenance team as and when required.

    • Carrying out on site installation as and when required by the customer.

    • Providing constructive feedback to the design team on electrical performance of designs, recommending modifications where appropriate.

    • Carrying out day to day housekeeping within area of work, ensuring a safe and clean working environment within a 5s structure.

    • Agreeing job requirements and competencies, participating in relevant training and development and asking for support as required.

    • Monitoring and sharing own progress and addressing any changes, taking corrective action as required.

    • Communicating regularly with other members of the department, ensuring continuous interaction and contribution to effective team working.

  • To ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of financial and physical resources by: Maximising the use of available resources and avoiding waste, adhering to standards, policies and procedure and ensuring that own actions fit with and/or enhance others used in the department.

Qualifications & Education:

  • C&G / HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering

  • C&G 2391-** Installation and Commissioning

  • C&G 2382-18 18th Edition

  • ATEX/COMPEX certification an advantage

  • All the above to cover:

  • Fault finding and repair

  • Overhaul and testing of 3 phases

  • 400V distribution systems

  • 3 phase motor & control circuits

  • Inverter drives

  • PLC & PC control systems

  • 230V lighting and distribution systems

  • 24VDC sensors

  • transducers and encoders

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products

  • SAP R3 or similar integrated system
