Permanent role working for a worldwide design and supply of automation equipment and systems organisation.     

The company designs, manufactures, assembles, installs and commissions sophisticated systems worldwide and has reputation within the industry for getting it right first time.

An Electrical Design and Software Engineer is required with knowledge of electrical design, PLC, HMI and SCADA programming. Candidates with knowledge of PLC programming (typical Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens), Robot programming (typical ABB, Motoman), SCADA programming (typical RSView32, WinCC, MX4) and Human machine interface HMI programming (typical FactoryTalk, WinCC, E Designer, Proface) would be well received.

Due to expansion within the design team this Lancashire based client requires a dynamic, leading Electrical Design Software Engineer on a permanent basis.  As an Electrical Design Software Engineer, you will be required to:

  • PLC programming (typical Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens)
  • Robot programming (typical ABB, Motoman)
  • SCADA programming (typical RSView32, WinCC, MX4
  • Human machine interface HMI programming (typical FactoryTalk, WinCC, E Designer, Proface)
  • Electrical design schematic and panel design using of AutoCAD
  • Organise and carry out electrical installations and document correctly
  • Organise Health and Safety on site
  • Liaise with customers and provide telephone support
  • Carry out risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Order and organise site materials
  • Provides leadership and direction to engineers within the electrical installation team
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with staff and subcontractors
  • Carry out installation testing and document correctly
  • Creation of machine technical manuals
  • Work in the UK and overseas

The Electrical Design Software Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

  • HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
  • Electrical Engineering Design experience (Power supply, moving parts, multiple components)
  • Fully competent in the use of AutoCAD
  • Programming within the Process and Manufacturing Industry
  • Servo systems
  • Design of software control systems from customer user requirement specification
  • Design of software control systems from process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID)
  • Set-up and test of software projects to factory acceptance stage
  • Commissioning of special software projects
  • Production of operator manuals and operational specifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver works against project timeframes
  • You must have your own transport and valid driving license
