EDS / Harness Engineers - all levels - motorcycles - Hinckley, Leic


Hinckley based motorcycle manufacturer seeking 3 off electrical distribution engineers / harness schematics. Previous experience is important but not necessarily in automotive so this may appeal to a wider audience interested in getting into automotive engineering


What you will do
The objective of this role is to create 2D harness schematic drawings (on vesys) and to validate harnesses. As such time will be office and lab based

  • Create a schematic layout (2D only) for a whole motorcycle harness
  • No electrical calcs are necessary (ie load distribution) however it is expected you look at ECU interface circuits to ensure compatibility (eg load dump, impedance matching etc)
  • No routing is required
  • You will be expected to fault find and so hands on electrical skills are required also for this role (scopes, meters etc)
  • For more senior levels, man and resource management is expected


What you will need

  • Degree or HND in electrical/electronic engineering (or similar qualification)
  • Be able to read both harness schematics and component level schematics and fault find
  • Previous harness experience is required but this can be auto, aero, rail, industrial ie anyone that designs harness schematics
  • Vesys would be very useful
  • Must be able to work in the UK indefinitely without sponsorship
