A Lead Engineer with experience in the design feasibility for door Body In White (BIW), is required for a leading Automotive OEM company based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

As Lead Engineer you'll be working with the Technical Specialist to deliver the early design feasibility for door Body In White (BIW), hinge, and check arm into vehicle programmes. You'll work with the Door Systems Product Development interfacing with the Design Studio to ensure the package, door gaps, and optical quality of the door system works ,and is within the design intent as well as the program assumptions.
You'll work with the Technical Specialist to create initial door package scheme and align with studio engineering. You'll conduct door swing analysis and design feasibility studies and work with functions on what changes and options are available to achieve world class engineering gaps and flush. In addition, you'll support the Centre of Competence in understanding design requirements and align strategies.
To apply for this position you will require:
- Experience of delivering projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Ideally you will have experience of working with a design studio and understanding and applying technical requirements will be essential for this role.
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Experience of using CATIA V5.
- Knowledge of door feasibility for BIW
