We are looking for an experienced and innovative Dimensional Management (DVA) Engineer who has the ability to provide feasibility inputs to Engineering and Design as part of the conceptual and early Engineering phases of new vehicle programmes.          

The role of Dimensional Management (DVA) Engineer will support the Principal Engineer in developing DM/DVA techniques, visualisation and maturation especially during the early stages of design.  This will involve communication with cross functional teams both in the UK and Asia, (internal and external) while embracing the strategic requirements and objectives to identify areas for improvement across all facets of the business.   

As a Dimensional Management (DVA) Engineer you will be charged with;

  • Dimensional management and dimensional variation analysis primary role is the support projects in the conceptual design stages of the program.

  • Additional support to be provided on request for part / assembly maturation process. Root cause analysis support for production / design related concerns.

  • Development of DM/DVA techniques, Visualisation and processes.

  • Supporting Mentorship and knowledge transfer to TML of Dimensional PQ methods and Processes.

Main duties and skills required for the Dimensional Management (DVA) Engineer will be;

  • Lead the generation and development of the Dimensional Variation Analysis simulation model in the proscribed format. Modelling techniques to be performed, rigid & compliance modelling.

  • Perform 3D tolerance analysis utilising VIS VSA or 3DCS.

  • Visualise worse case scenarios to emphasise on dimensional PQ issues and present to relevant departments.

  • Analyse early design surface models for PQ sensitive areas to identify potential build issues early, provide input to Gap / Rad planning.

  • Support development of PLP, GD&T and process direction toward meeting the dimensional targets and functional objectives.

  • Provide technical support to cross functional teams. 

  • Report programme status in reviews.

  • Support engineering / manufacturing activities.

  • Develop & support engineering / quality systems processes.

  • Benchmark locator strategies of competitor vehicles & report.

  • Support of Optical Quality & Perceived Quality development & assessment activities.

  • Catia v5 operative skills – 2D data & sectional data. (Key module utilisation: Part design & Geometric Surface design) 

  • TCUA (Team Centre) PLM utilisation is desirable

  • Support the Lead in Mentorship of engineering team in understanding and applying designs and engineering execution which achieves GD&T compliance.

  • Support the Lead in performing digital reviews and sign-off events for PQ related activities, for Exterior / interior systems.
