Overview of the role:

JCB Earthmovers designs and manufactures a range of earthmoving machines that are bristling with technology and sold worldwide. We are a hands-on engineering team with a real passion for the products we make and a desire to continually evolve and innovate. We are recruiting for a Development Engineer to join our Test and Development department, and play a key role in developing our future product range.

Your Responsibilities as a Development Engineer:

You will be responsible for completion of testing and development activities on new product designs, systems and components. You will provide analysis of test data, presenting to either colleagues or external suppliers with proposed design solutions. You will be required to design, commission and operate test rigs and write timely and accurate test and development reports.

In this role you will report to the Test and Development Manager

About you:

You will have:

*Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or have equivalent experience
*Good working knowledge of drivetrain, hydraulics and electrical/electronic systems
*A positive 'can-do' attitude, coupled with a sense of urgency and desire to succeed
*Strong communication skills and be comfortable working independently and as a member of a team.

Desirable skills:

*Experience in the design/development of off highway vehicles
*Experience using 'on vehicle' Data Acquisition tools
*Experience working to with ISO Standards and Directives
*Strong Microsoft Office skills
