Design Engineer

Up to £32/hr - Inside IR35

Peterborough/WFH - Hybrid

Diesel Engines

The successful applicant for this position will join a component engineering department and will take responsibility for design and development activities of components and systems for our client's brand engine ranges.

Each project offers the opportunity to work on the design and development of engines intended to meet the latest emissions legislation, with world-class levels of quality and reliability. You will be part of a small, friendly team working together to deliver programmes that are critical to the long-term success of a respected, global company.

Ideal candidates would have a mix and design and development experience, knowledge of IC engines and be able to plan and execute challenging tasks/projects with minimal supervision.

To apply for this position you should have some of the following:

 

  • Strong technical background (technical degree preferred in mechanical, electronic, electrical, or automotive engineering) though other qualifications / experience will be considered.
  • Good understanding of Manufacturing principles & processes
  • Design experience of mechanical components and systems 3D CAD (Pro-Engineer CREO)
  • Good understanding of engine / mechanical component design
  • Knowledge of engine systems in particular of Exhaust Aftertreatment & Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF) Systems
  • Experience of running and participating in FMEA
  • Design experience gained in the off-highway sector
  • Knowledge and usage of Team Centre – data management software
  • New design development following the APQP methodology.

1.    Knowledge of engine systems in particular of Exhaust Aftertreatment & Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF) Systems

2.    Experience of running and participating in FMEA

3.    Design experience gained in the off-highway sector

4.    Knowledge and usage of Team Centre – data management software

5.    New design development following the APQP methodology.
