Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with electrical bias - Day shifts - Oldham - Up to £34k plus additional payments in shift allowance and call out rota.

So you are a good multi skilled Engineer with a solid background in manufacturing maintenance, you enjoy your job but hate those 12 hour night shifts and weekends off are a luxury? If this sounds like you then read on, we have a great new opportunity for you to join our client a European leader in the manufacture of consumer chemicals based in Oldham.

The role will see you doing the job you know, fault finding on automated PLC controlled equipment, delivering repairs and maintenance to 3 phase motors, drives, gearboxes, pneumatic logic systems, hydraulics and more. It would be great if you know your way around Mitsubishi drives and PLC software from a fault finding perspective but experience on other similar systems will be fine (we can do some training).

The company packs its products in several formats from high speed aerosol can filling to blow moulded containers so the role would suit applicants of similar environments or with solid FMCG type backgrounds where lines are fast and automated.

Other skills of particular interest would be knowledge and experience of 5s, KAIZAN and TPM principles, it would be ideal if you could identify areas for improvement and support the delivery of projects across line speeds, waste reduction, throughput and similar. ComPex qualifications or working knowledge of chemical manufacturing would be nice, after all its what the site does but not essential.

The role is on days, over Monday to Friday (I know, that's pretty rare in maintenance). You will work effectively 06:00 to 14:15 Monday to Friday followed by one week of 8:00 to 18:15 Monday to Thursday. There is a "on call rota" for out of hours support but we do pay extra for this and is roughly one week in six.
All in all we have a great job offering work life balance with a decent salary, if you want to know more please just click the apply now button to submit your CV to Phil Bloomer of Jonathan Lee Recruitment.
