Creative Designer (Colour and Materials) - Gaydon - rate dependent on experience
The position will be based within the Advanced Design Studio and the successful candidate will report to the Colour & Materials Advanced Design Manager. The key responsibilities for the role include: Trend research and the creation of material strategies for future implementation. Research, development and application of interior/exterior colours, decorative materials and finishes. Good presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks on varied projects, influence their design direction with a high degree of technical knowledge, creativity and flair. Work alongside multiple departments to translate concepts into reality whilst simultaneously achieving feasibility and cost targets.
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- Designer with good 3D spatial evaluation Good aesthetic judgement and colour vision/ expertise in developing innovative materials
- Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office
- Requires a well organised, creative individual who is capable of expressing opinions in a professional manner.
The candidate will ideally have at least 2 years previous experience as a Colour & Materials Designer, possessing good aesthetic judgement, colour vision and perception. Has the ability to work on their own initiative whilst also undertaking team projects and relate to all levels of staff and management. Requires a good understanding of automotive materials, technologies and processes. Ability to plan and undertake multiple projects to demanding deadlines. Candidates must be qualified to a degree level in a relevant design subject and must have a proficient grasp of the English language.
