Are you a highly experienced Cost Engineer, Senior Cost Engineer or Cost Manager from within the consumer electronics industry? My client, based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, is looking for a Cost Manager to strengthen their team.

This endlessly creative and progressive company has repeatedly invented technology which has disrupted the consumer electronics market. This is a great opportunity to work for one of the foremost technological innovators of all time.

The successful candidate does not need to have experience of managing a team. What is required though is an education and background in engineering, specifically the consumer electronics arena, and as a Cost Engineer, Senior Cost Engineer or Cost Manager. You will need to prove that you can confidently and effectively converse with PD Designers and Engineers. You will therefore need to have worked in a company using similar technology or making similar products.

You will use your background as an engineer from within consumer electronics and your cost management experience to work with R&D Designers and Engineers to engineer cost out of the products from their conception. You will build ground up cost estimates for new projects, influencing product, assembly and components to reduce cost.

As well as your engineering/manufacturing degree and your experience as an engineer and within cost engineering, you will need to be creative and solution focused as whilst there are of course KPIs, deadlines and admin to be done, this is not a transactional position and nor is it procurement or supplier focussed.

You will need strong analytical abilities, experience of project managing several projects simultaneously, and outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

In return the Cost Manager will receive a negotiable salary of circa £60k, 27 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, pension, performance related bonus, life assurance, a smart casual dress code, a fantastic site with subsidised cafes and restaurants offering amazing food, an onsite sport sent, staff parking and staff discounts.
