A Control Software Engineer is required to undertake model-based system design and auto code generation using Simulink and MATLAB to be used in the development and integration of Hydrogen Mono and Dual Fuel Solutions. Candidates with experience in the development and undertaking of SIL and HIL tests to prove designs would be well received.

Due to increased workloads this company, one of the world's first developers and integrators of hydrogen solutions, focusing on engineering, hydrogen infrastructure, industrial, on-road, off-road, and marine applications, requires a proactive Control Software Engineer, based in Shenfield, to capture functional, safety and compliance requirements of control software. As a Control Software Engineer you will be required to:

  • Develop and implement test plans (DVP)
  • Contribute to FMEA's
  • Work with calibration, electrical and mechanical teams to support effective whole system design
  • Work with quality and compliance team to ensure designs meet code standards and regulations
  • Analyse product development and IT tools relevant to engine software and control systems

The Control Software Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

  • Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of programming languages MATLAB/Simulink/PLC and C
  • Knowledge of CAN bus and higher protocols e.g. SAE J1939, CAN open etc.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA and V-Model software development process
  • General knowledge of functional safety, automotive safety integrity levels (ASILs) and ISO 26262
