Location: Leicestershire

As the Continuous Improvement Coordinator for this international manufacturing business, you will be joining a forward-thinking organisation that has developed a strong brand reputation for manufacturing excellence. This company supplies volume high quality engineered products across the globe to a wide range of industrial and commercial sectors. They are now looking to recruit a forward-thinking CI Coordinator who will report to the Production Manager. The position requires a strong practical understanding of Lean manufacturing tools and techniques and their application within a highly automated, process manufacturing and engineering environment. Your role will include identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal and cost reduction across the business including production areas and transactional support office functions.

To be considered for this Continuous Improvement Coordinator you must have or be:

  • Worked as a CI Engineer, Improvement Specialist, Kaizen Engineer, or Lean Six Sigma Engineer, with experienced gained within a manufacturing / engineering / or processing environment.
  • An excellent understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, with experience of working with the shopfloor, prioritising projects and running quick fire kaizen events to overcome bottlenecks and waste.
  • Able to teach, coach and lead cross functional teams in Lean Six Sigma methodology particularly the use of problem-solving tools and techniques including DMAIC, 8D, A3 thinking and RCA. Experience of TPM, OEE, VSM, Visual Management, 5S and SOP would be extremely useful within this processing environment.
  • Able to analyse the current “as is” state and work with all stakeholders to create buy-in on the changes required, timescales and working practices that will ensure future state success and sustainment.
  • Experience of change management, being able to overcomes obstacles, resistance to change, traditions and working practices that stifle innovation, progress and productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills comfortable leading, training, coaching, and creating an environment of participation and engagement, which drives continuous improvement.
  • A hands-on, persuasive, tenacious and results oriented personality, capable of delivering, monitoring, and driving a CI programme that will deliver improvements across the business.
