Commercial & Technical Account Manager

Salary up to £60k (DOE) + bonus + car allowance + benefits.

Location: UK wide, Ideally Midlands to Liverpool / Manchester, Home based

A Commercial & Technical Account Manager is required for an international manufacturer and distributor of activated carbon products and services. As a leading global supplier, they provide activated carbon to a wide and diverse range of customers and industries. Due to outstanding quality, value and customer service, demand for their products continues to grow. As the Commercial & Technical Account Manager you will report to the Managing Director with responsibility for major account development across the UK and work closely with the EMEA regional teams and distribution network. To achieve this, you will have significant UK and European sales and marketing experience that demonstrates a history of success and an ability to grow new and existing accounts through collaboration, technical expertise and partnerships.

To be considered for this Commercial & Technical Account Manager position you must have / or be.

  • Currently working as a Technical Sales Manager, Account Manager, or an Engineering/Technical Manager looking to use your experience in a more sales or commercially orientated role. Industry sector experience could include water, food, chemicals, oil & gas purification, cleansing and filtration products and services.
  • Working with a small UK office-based team you will manage and grow existing accounts ensuring maximum penetration and coverage for new products and services. Using your sales, technical knowledge and prior relationships you will look for opportunities to develop new client accounts and work closely with channel partners, agents and distributors to maximise coverage and sales.
  • Familiar with UK & European REACH legislation with a good understanding of Brexit custom declarations, duties, clearance and VAT regulations related to import and export needs.
  • A degree in a Chemistry or a related Science discipline, or alternatively hold ONC or HNC equivalents supported by further business qualifications and relevant industry experience.
  • Strong people management skills, able to coach, train, and development internal staff and external teams (agents / distributors) to ensure sales revenues are achieved while at the same time delivering the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction and service.
  • A self-starter, dynamic, driven, and entrepreneurial, with an inquisitive nature, data driven and numerate with good IT, organisational and planning skills, able to multi-task and not afraid to question and challenge at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation, able to motivate and influence others, take ownership of tasks and processes and ensure they are completed successfully and on time.
