Title: COC Programme Manager (Purchasing) - 37363

Division: Purchasing

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Rate: - up to £44.81/hr Ltd (c£34.36/hr PAYE option) 

Position Description:

The Programmes Purchasing team manages the interface between Product Development and the purchasing community to ensure supplier sourcing, cost, quality and timing are all delivered against plan. This is a key role in delivering the new vehicle programmes and offers a unique and challenging experience with business-wide exposure and development Specific candidate requirements 3+ years Purchasing / Programme management experience in the automotive industry, OEM or supplier, with demonstrable evidence of successful programme delivery

As a key member of our Purchasing team, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the COC delivery & compliance to iPLM sourcing deliverables for all new vehicle lines
  • Provide a completed ESWP for the COC for each new vehicle line
  • Chairing / moderating the CoCs weekly
  • Sourcing Board Review
  • Working closely with CoC Production Purchase team to prioritise and focus sourcing activity, and thus to provide process inputs as required - to support programme sourcing requirements as reflected through the Global Sourcing Process
  • Interfacing as required to support provision of necessary deliverable data from supporting functions required to progress the sourcing activity
  • Drive and support the COC to ensure robust purchasing cost events completion, delivering new vehicles to target with all known risks and opportunities identified to the programme
  • Ensure all carryover parts are submitted through the GSP process and CVLs are issued by the COC and acknowledged by the supply base
  • Champion relationships across the COC with internal customers and stakeholders to provide the best overall outcomes from the supply chain, whether they are technical, commercial or logistical.
  • Work alongside Architecture Management colleagues to maximise the commercial input to the new vehicles
  • Ensure the COC new model cost and timing from the supply base is clearly communicated and up to date
  • Direct management responsibility for a small team - objective setting, performance management, guidance and support

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience managing complex projects across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Confident and assertive with the ability to build strong working relationships and influence a wide range of stakeholders at all levels in the business
  • Business acumen, personal initiative and a passion to succeed, together with the influencing skills to manage the programme sourcing activity with a good level of independence
  • Effective cross-functional team working experience
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances, with experience managing conflicting priorities; finds problem solving a rewarding experience
  • Experience of managing a team with strong leadership and influencing skills with a proven track record in a purchasing or programme environment

Education Required:

Professionally qualified, i.e. educated to Degree or MCIPS level
