Manufacturing Engineer (CNC)


£38,000pa - £40,000pa

We are recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong technical understanding of CNC machining processes to work in a complex machining environment, for a leading car manufacturer based in Birmingham. In this role you will be supporting the production disciplines by continuously ensuring the optimisation of processes and technologies in the existing production systems. You will be organising and managing production driven improvements as well as supporting Lean Thinking methods used by the production team and ensure that problems are managed and corrected with repeatable and robust methods. You will also support new projects by providing lessons learnt with feedback and data.


As Manufacturing Engineer:

  •  In your role you will take the lead on providing solutions for tasks and problems identified by the production teams through their critical KPI's.

  • You will ensure that performance of the machinery and processes are maximised.

  • It will be your responsibility to support in the continuous improvement of all processes and plant standards within designated area.

  • Inspire and drive change to improve quality and efficiency

  • Maintain and improve the process Control plan.

  • Another important aspect of your role will be to develop investment plans to support process improvements.

  • You will be required to support others through training when delivering new facilities and source training to support production needs.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to a minimum of HNC or equivalent in engineering related discipline.

  • Time served apprentice in Mechanical/Electrical/Production discipline.

  • Experience working in a complex Machining environment.

  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills

  • Project management skills.

  • Experience in high volume manufacturing processes preferably within the automotive industry.

  • Knowledge of process control techniques and gauging methods.
