We are looking for an experienced and innovative Chief Engineer (NVH) who has the ability to take NVH products from initial design concepts through all development and prototype phases and through to effective launch for new EV vehicles and associated attributes.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering Quality, the Chief Engineer (NVH) will lead the NVH function within the business, provide technical direction, manage and coordinate team activities and act as primary contact with all other Chief Engineers, ERC Department Heads and Attribute Manager(s) throughout the delivery of work content.  A hands-on, approach and can-do attitude are essential, as is the ability to communicate effective across internal teams, customers and other office locations globally in a constructive and energetic way, while providing technical expertise within NVH across the full vehicle.

As a Chief Engineer (NVH) your main responsibilities will include;

• Lead and develop the NVH team to enable delivery of business requirements

• Define and implement new virtual capabilities for early phase programmes

• Support the demonstration and implementation of new technologies and methodologies

• Influence early phase programmes at an architectural design level for NVH

• Planning, budgeting, and management of NVH work streams

• Ensure all NVH Team deliverables are defined and delivered

• Review and develop processes for all NVH deliverables

• Act as the NVH expert on multiple engineering projects as required

• Support the implementation of design rules and standards to deliver customer requirements

• Lead benchmarking activities in support of target setting processes

• Support the NVH team in data acquisition, analysis and drive appraisal activities

• Reporting and presentation of NVH results and recommendations

• Define and implement vehicle, system and component level NVH targets and tests

• Develop refinement improvement plans for all new products where required

You will bring to the role:                                                             

• Demonstrates appropriate depth of knowledge within NVH attributes and associated product areas within full vehicle development programs (preferably EV)

• Effective leadership in managing teams and the delivery of products within a innovation arena

• Capable of defining, developing and managing a project autonomously with minimal need for support

• Experience of NVH test, development, test methodology, NVH instrumentation and their applications.

• Strong problem solving and coordination skills used to deliver critical projects with time and budgetary constraints.

• Strong communication skills having the ability to build relationships and pull together cross functional teams to ensure effective solutions are provided within all areas of product development
