Title: Project Engineer

Division: Chassis Engineering

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Rate: Up to £21.66 per hour

Position Description:

The fixings integrity team are responsible for developing the characteristics of key interfaces, for analysing joints to demonstrate capacity and capability, to act as key fact and knowledge holders within chassis and to develop our tools, techniques, requirements and standards to keep JLR in an industry leading position for our threaded joint technologies. The position will mainly focus initially on conducting threaded joint analysis using CAE based bolted joint tools eg Boltcalc, hand calculations and excel based spread sheets. The role, depending on the candidate's own abilities, can expand to include method development, issue resolution to name a few.

Skills Required:

Engineering Degree Exposure to structural engineering and CAE - @ degree level is acceptable a good level of capability in using MS Excel.

Scripting within excel would be desirable but not essential.

Experience Required:

An engineering degree is essential which is biased towards mechanical/aeronautical/automotive. As for experience - ideally someone with at least 1 year experience within an engineering design and development role, or a high performing graduate. The fixings team is a small team, hence there can be pressure to deliver, the candidate must be able to multitask, move from project to project depending on priority requirements and the individual must be someone who can adapt and be flexible. The individual must embrace the customer first experience approach, be willing to move with speed and accuracy and be an effective communicator and team player.

Additional Information:

The individual will be given full training, guidance and mentoring if not experienced in the assessment of threaded joints.
