Title: CAE Analyst

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Rate: Up to £24.76 per hour

Position Description:

A CAE Analyst within Chassis Enigneering is required to join a leading automotive OEM based in Gaydon, Warwickshire on a long term contract basis.

The Method Development, Tools and Systems group are a specialist group within the Chassis Suspensions Systems Architecture (SSA) team responsible for developing new methods for the design and development for the component development teams.

The team is also tasked to develop automated tools to increase the turnover of CAE within the component development teams and where possible enable decisions to be made by the cad/ component owner, enabling them to develop their designs quicker.

The part of the team we are seeking to recruit for cover more general stress/ strain/ fatigue analysis supporting other groups within chassis who do have their own CAE teams. We are also looking to bolster our modal/ forced response capability with knowledge of modal participation with the ability to advise on design changes to help resolve forced response issues. The nature of the work requires high levels of analysis skills in implicit analysis - typically using analysis codes such as Abaqus and Optistruct. Pre and post processing is typically carried out in Hyperworks, but Abaqus CAE can be useful. We are looking for a degree qualified experienced analyst who is self-motivated to fit in with a small, specialist team.

Skills Required:

  • Competent to be able to carry out CAE Implicit analysis (stress/ strain) including geometric non-linear, contact, and elasto-plastic analysis
  • Have experience and knowledge of CAE modal and forced response
  • Good communication and relationship building skills

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience of CAE analysis (ideally 2 years - over 4 years preferred)

Education Required:

Bachelors` Degree or better in Mechanical Engineering or aligned Engineering or Science subject.
