We are looking for a Lead Cell Engineer with a background in materials and battery science, to Join the Cell Design team in a brand-new state of the art R&D facility based in Wiltshire. As a Lead Cell Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of;

  • Applying your knowledge to develop custom cells, enabling the next generation of companies products.
  • Using a combination of practical experience, modelling and theoretical knowledge to optimise electrode design and prototyping.
  • Applying strong characterisation skills to analyse electrodes utilising both physical and electrochemical tools. You will be able to apply these results to drive cell performance.
  • Working within a team to scale electrode designs from small scale batches to prototype cells. Utilising process insight and applied knowledge, facilitate an accurate and efficient transfer of process

An exciting opportunity for an Experienced Lead Cell Engineer with the following:

  • PhD/Eng.D level degree in a physical science or engineering discipline relevant to electrochemical cell research and development
  • Relevant industrial experience
  • Track record in the development of lithium-ion/lithium metal technology,  with a strong understanding of electrochemical techniques and understanding of cell performance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of critical battery materials and battery science
  • Substantial experience in the development of alternative electrolyte systems (such as gel, polymer, solid-state etc.) and clear understanding of the challenges.
  • Extensive experience of cell failure mode analysis.
