Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new sales by the identification and execution of new business territory opportunities to achieve targets. They are targeted to primarily engage with customer prospects either lapsed or new. Candidates with Business Development Manager experience within the Fire and Security Services industry will be well received.
Due to increased workloads this client, a UK market leader that specialises in temporary site security solutions based in Kent requires a Business Development Manager who will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.
As a Business Development Manager you will be required to:
Present, promote and sell services using solid arguments and professional sales presentations to new or lapsed customers, focusing on all opportunities within public and private sector with the main focus on clients in the following sectors: Facilities Management, Managing Agents, Insolvency Practitioners, Construction and Retail and Leisure
Reach potential customers through cold calling using targeted prospecting, utilising both marketing-sourced and self-sourced leads; the latter through the development and leveraging of the BDM's own network
Achieve or exceed all agreed-upon sales objectives and outcomes
Perform cost--benefit and needs analysis of potential customers to meet their needs
Create high quality written documents to articulate and support relevant business cases
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
Strategically plan and develop a pipeline of new business opportunities for the assigned territory, moving each accurately through the relevant stages in SalesForce and maintain accurate and up-to-date data within SalesForce
Proactively identify and attend local/regional industry events (such as association functions and conferences), providing market intelligence on industry trends to Marketing and management Engage with Marketing and regional/national management on market trends to support the development of clients positioning, differentiators, new products, services, partners and distribution channels
Maintain regular (typically weekly) progress reporting on all key client projects to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring data is accurate and current.
Analyse the territory's potential, track sales and produce status reports as necessary
Introduces the relevant Key Account Manager to the account at an appropriate stage and effectively manages the hand-over of the relationship when successfully new business is effectively closed
Identify and negotiate, in conjunction with legal and regional management, framework agreements and SLAs in order that all key client expectations are managed
Increase the use of products and services whilst developing new product growth within the lapsed client base.
Deliver professional sales presentations on the company's products and services to lapsed and potential customers.
Attend Regional sales and progress meetings fully prepared with relevant current data on market and opportunities
Ensure flexibility to attend out of region meetings including overnight stays
Report all problems, complaints and Issues to Line Manager.
Communicate appropriately with all parties as and when required.
Carry out any other reasonable duties to meet the and needs of Regional and National sales.
The Business Development Manager should have the following skills or experience:
Minimum 3 years sales experience within a B2B services environment
Ability to quickly understand the services used in the void property management sector
Great presentation skills
Highly credible communicator with excellent networking and presentation skills
Strong commercial acumen, including effective negotiating and closing skills
Experienced researcher with the ability to map the prospective market within the territory
Intuitive with the ability to quickly understand the customers' needs
Structured and consistent report writing and presentation
Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop business plans appropriate to the role
Ability to work within customer and management, gaining buy-in to plans and proposals through effective communication and presentation skills
Ideally, excellent knowledge of SalesForce or, failing that, the effective usage of similar CRM systems Excellent written, oral, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills are required
Ability to handle challenging questions with credibility and ease
