Avionics Technician - Attractive - Permanent - West Wales

An Aircraft (Avionics) Technician is required to join a market leading Innovative Defence Systems Company. The Aircraft (Avionics) Technician will provide support for the Ground Control Station (GCS) and Aircraft Platform.

The Aircraft (Avionics) Technician will carry out maintenance and engineering activity in accordance with the relevant Maintenance Manuals and Engineering Technical Instructions.

The Aircraft (Avionics) Technician will assist in preparing the system for flight, maintain, troubleshoot and rectify avionics systems and to operate as a flight line Avionics Technician within the flight line team.

Aircraft (Avionics) Technician - Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of avionics and electronic components of an Aircraft system
  • Preparation of airfield for launch and recovery
  • Pre and post flight routine checks on the aircraft components
  • Provide technical liaison, advice, support and assistance as required
  • Manage and carry out all regular maintenance and long-term storage tasks
  • Maintain and repair the training facilities and platform
  • Perform electrical tests using relevant Test Equipment
  • Avionics tasks Inc: Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Replacement and Calibration
  • Replacement of faulty components

Technical Skills and Experience for Aircraft (Avionics) Technician

  • Qualified Avionics Technician
  • Familiar with air, aviation and ISTAR operations preferred
  • Mentally and physically fit and robust individual who is highly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in physically arduous conditions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience with avionics, electronics and communications equipment
  • First and second line (forward and depth) maintenance experience
  • Sound working knowledge of military and Air Publications
  • Experienced in airfield, flight line and runway operations
  • Capability to operate as part of small team
  • Flexible approach to duties and responsibilities
  • Good team player with the ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Able to communicate clearly by voice, phone and radio
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages
  • Previous military aviation experience OR previous civilian aircraft and airfield experience in avionics and aircraft dispatch/receipt
