SYS-1041 Attribute Measurement Team Leader (R-OAM/GSQA)

The Role

Due to the expansion of business within the Attributes Engineering department, we are actively searching for a Team Leader to lead the growth of the Attribute objective assessment and monitoring team to develop the commercial toolset for a range of customers for the automotive and transport industries.

Based at the Leamington Spa Technical Centre in the UK, you will lead the team that is developing the Objective Assessment & Monitoring (R-OAM) and GearShift Quality Assessment (GSQA) hardware and software toolsets.

The R-OAM/GSQA team uses a host of proprietary tools including in-vehicle or rig based measurement systems with software programmes that have been organically developed within a Matlab environment. The team supplies the GSQA system on a commercial basis to numerous OEM and transmission manufacturers. The team is also responsible for a full range of shift quality project activities, from shift system design reviews through to development, testing and validation of prototype designs. Development of an increased capability toolset (R-OAM) is currently underway to further enhance the product offering to customers.

Job Description

You will have responsibility for managing the profitability and return on investment (ROI) of the R-OAM and GSQA toolsets, supporting the Market Sector sales team with information on the product, as well as meeting new and existing customers to increase sales and develop the strategy for the development of the market offering.

As the attribute objective measurement team leader, you will also be expected to work in close partnership with the other attribute leads to develop and consolidate the various attribute toolsets as well as support benchmarking measurements and internal project delivery. You will also support the ongoing development of a culture of successful and effective research and innovation. Your role will include coaching, mentoring and skill development of our engineers.

Person Specification

You are a proven engineer or team leader with experience in:

  • Objective testing and attribute management
  • Commercial business case analysis
  • People, skills and resource management

You are now seeking your next move into a challenging industry that will broaden your experience and reward you with opportunities to manage people, develop a growing portfolio and build on your prior commercial responsibilities.

You will have a strong technical background in at least one area of objective vehicle measurement, ideally with transmission engineering experience.

Able to work & communicate well with management, as well as team members, the commercial team, project management and customers.
