Role: Assistant Engineering Manager

Your main duties and responsibilities as an Assistant Engineering Manager will be:

  • Managing the workshop in a cost effective and safe manner
  • Managing the planned maintenance during the day to ensure the vehicles are available for morning peak.
  • Recording and rectifying any defects reported by staff
  • Dealing with the maintenance, health and safety and environmental impact of Company premises and ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Minimising engineering lost mileage and downtime by delivering safe and reliable vehicles to ensure traffic requirements are met.
  • Engaging the team to examine root cause analysis of repeat vehicle defects to improve fleet performance.
  • To ensure all staff work safely and the garage operates in accordance with the required Health and Safety standards.

The successful candidate for our Assistant Engineering Manager - role will have the following skills & experience:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of fleet management systems. Oracle experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering procedures and health and safety legislation.
  • Have good knowledge of engineering technical skills.
  • Previous experience of developing and managing staff.
  • Be adaptable, analytical and organised.
  • A full driving license (6 points of less).
  • Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.
