Title: Assembly Jig Fixture and Pallet Design Engineer

Division: Manufacturing Engineering

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Position Description:

This is a Jig & Fixture Design Engineer role within Manufacturing Engineering. We are looking for Designers who come with a wealth of Design experience across the Automotive Build Process.

Responsibilities will include the design of both Body in White (BIW) and Trim and Final (T&F) Assembly Fixtures. Design Projects WILL be varied. The more experience you can evidence the better.

You will be responsible for the Kick Off to Design Delivery and successful physical fixture handover. You will be required to support the continual development of the Department Lessons Learnt (Continual Improvement), and the continual development of JLR Tooling and Design Standards

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

The skills we are looking are, but not limited to, the following abilities

• Previous Automotive experience (at OEMs or Design House Partners).
• Catia V5 Training Certification Evidence / Higher Education to provide evidence / Years served experience (evidenced with Case Studies / Portfolio of Design work)
• Automotive Body in White (BIW)
• Assembly Tool Design experience.
• 3D Modelling and 2D Detailing / Drafting
• Bill of Material experience.

• Catia V6.
• TeamCentre.
• Catia V6 Enovia.
• Vendor Tool Design Experience
• Pneumatic Controls Engineer
• Electrical Controls Engineer (E Plan)
• Experience of working on JLR Projects
• Knowledge of JLR Tooling Standards
• Static and Dynamic Load Calculation Assessment / FEA Analysis Experience (within Catia environment)
• Dynamic Load Analysis skills (within Catia environment)
