We are currently seeking an experienced Assembly Fitter for a role with a Special Purpose Machinery company based in Bedfordshire.
Responsibilities and Duties
To work as part of the machine build assembly team
To fit and assemble sub-assemblies and incorporate these into complete machines
To build pneumatic equipment used to control the machines and cap transport systems.
To build cap transport systems.
To ensure that all parts and assemblies are correctly fitted and assembled together in accordance with the agreed tolerances and procedures.
General mechanical hand fitting skills. Fitting bearings.Alignment of shafts.Marking out, drilling and tapping.
Experience in building assemblies and special purpose machinery
Ensuring assemblies are built to drawing and are aligned correctly
Machining skills, although not part of the normal build process, the need for some turning and milling is occasionally required.
Welding Skills (Stainless/Aluminium)
Ideally served an apprenticeship with a complementary type business- Desirable to have had some Testing, installation and commissioning experience
WORKING HOURS:Normal hours of work will be 7.45 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. Monday to Thursday with 30 minutes for lunch each day, and 7.45 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. on Friday. (Nominal 37 hours). When required, you will be expected to work any additional hours which may become necessary from time to time and will receive overtime payments in accordance with the agreed rates.
