An Aircraft Mechanical Technician is required to join a market leading Innovative Defence Systems Company. The Aircraft Mechanical Technician will provide support for the Ground Control Station (GCS) and Aircraft Platform.

The Aircraft Mechanical Technician will carry out maintenance and engineering activity in accordance with the relevant Maintenance Manuals and Engineering Technical Instructions.

The Aircraft Mechanical Technician will assist in preparing the system for flight, maintain, troubleshoot and rectify mechanical systems and to operate as a flight line Aircraft Mechanical Technician within the flight line team.

Aircraft Mechanical Technician - Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of mechanical components of an Aircraft system
  • Preparation of airfield for launch and recovery
  • Pre and post flight routine checks on the aircraft components
  • Provide technical liaison, advice, support and assistance as required
  • Manage and carry out all regular maintenance and long-term storage tasks
  • Maintain and repair the training facilities and platform
  • Perform mechanical tests using relevant Test Equipment
  • Tasks including Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Replacement and Calibration
  • Replacement of faulty components

Technical Skills & Experience for Aircraft Mechanical Technician

  • Qualified Mechanical Technician
  • Familiar with air, aviation and ISTAR operations preferred
  • Mentally and physically fit and robust individual who is highly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in physically arduous conditions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience with mechanical systems and equipment
  • First and second line (forward and depth) maintenance experience
  • Sound working knowledge of Military and Air Publications
  • Experienced in airfield, flight line and runway operations
  • Capability to operate as part of small team
  • Flexible approach to duties and responsibilities
  • Good team player with the ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Able to communicate clearly by voice, phone and radio
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages
  • Previous military aviation systems experience preferred
  • Previous aircraft and airfield experience in aircraft dispatch/receipt
