An ADAS Project Engineer is required for the engineering, development, integration, and validation of ADAS and safety systems (autonomous braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot recognition,

adaptive cruise control, and airbag control systems) into the overall vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration with Tier 1 suppliers. Candidates with working knowledge of relevant ADAS standards, ISO 26262 and EuroNCAP would be well received.

Due to increased workloads this company, a world renowned automotive design and manufacturer, requires a proactive ADAS Project Engineer, based in Guildford, to manage compliance with any necessary functional safety, environmental and EMC requirements. As an ADAS Project Engineer you will be required to:

  • Develop and maintain the timing plan, system, and validation requirements
  • Provide guidance to EDS and Packaging Teams to ensure that control units and peripherals are correctly located and packaged in accordance with installation and wiring requirements
  • Participate in system review, verification and validation activities including FMEAs, EMC and functionality tests throughout the development lifecycle
  • Represent the Electrical Department at programme level in status meetings, gateways, financial reviews, and engineering reviews
  • Fault identification and resolution including management of issues to closure. Acting as an authority for concessions
  • Supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle

The ADAS Project Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

  • Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc) and full product lifecycle activities
  • Professional relevant experience in ADAS / AD Systems Engineering
  • Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks and vehicle diagnostics
  • Awareness of ADAS SAE Levels
  • Awareness of systems development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of ADAS features on the market / under development
  • Knowledge of ADAS regulations and standards (UN-ECE and ISO)
  • Proficient in Office tools (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Driving Licence valid for driving in the UK
  • Flexibility to travel to suppliers as and when required
