This SME business is an automotive design and vehicle manufacturing company that is currently undergoing a huge period of growth, with the introduction of impressive new product lines. Business expansion has facilitated creation of this new role, and the search for a suitably qualified person with a creative, entrepreneurial mindset.

The focus for this role is to develop a targeted and profitable range of on-brand accessories. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the role is tasked with growing revenue from existing products, as well as identifying new opportunities, working in lock-step with Engineering, Sales and Marketing to develop a compelling product range sold primarily through e-commerce-based routes to market.  

The role:

  • Through market research and collaboration with internal Sales, Marketing and Engineering functions, identify business opportunities to grow an existing, though small-scale, accessories programme that is targeted at, and compelling to target customers.

  • You will be responsible for all aspects of business development: identifying product opportunities, scoping the market equation, and ensuring an effective take-it-to-market process, accessed via an e-commerce marketplace.

  • Development of short and medium-term Business Plans in support of the  growth strategy.

  • Create and report out to the business via a dashboard of KPIs that are aligned to  business planning and governance process.

  • ambitions that Conduct market and competitor research to ensure business opportunities are targeted, on-brand, differentiated and market-based in their positioning strategy.

  • Seek to maximise departmental revenue and profitability.

  • Working with the existing Commercial team, develop and deliver an effective on-line marketing and sales capability.

  • Be an energetic contributor to the design and development of an e-commerce website.

  • Monitor, report and act on Web analytics and internal data sources.

  • Work closely with web development and IT teams to deliver an online ‘shop’ that has effective and intuitive user experience.

  • Create and run seasonal campaigns to support key vehicle selling periods.

  • Identify process and governance improvements to existing business practices.  

  • Key Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide effective cross-team collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance and Operations.

  • Create and maintain a KPI dashboard that is focused and up to date.

  • Conduct regular analysis of stock including ageing / obsolescence, ensuring that the Company’s sales and financial performance are optimised.

Process Improvement:

  • Keep ahead of the industry’s developments and apply best practices where improvement is needed.

  • Work proactively with dealers and customers to gain market insight, utilising this feedback to improve customer service and product range and quality.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Ideally, evidence strong and effective management experience within both Aftersales and E-Commerce environments.

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Experience of running or operating within an E-commerce sales channel / marketplace (e.g. E-Bay, Amazon)

  • An excellent understanding of CRM systems and social media selling platforms.

  • A good overall understanding of supply chain activities.
