Production Manager
Salary up to £50,000 (DOE) + benefits
Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Do you have Production Management experience, and are you looking for a new challenging opportunity in Walsall? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping an established and well regarded manufacturing business recruit a modern lean thinking Production Manager.
As Production Manager of this specialist bespoke product manufacturing business you will be responsible for managing production and daily operations to ensure that cost, quality and on time delivery of all products is achieved. The position requires excellent people management skills, production planning/scheduling experience and an in-depth understanding of lean manufacturing that will optimise production flow and deliver improved quality and lead time performance. This role will report directly to the Operations Director and you will part of a team tasked with delivering business improvement across the site.
As Production Manager you will:
- Ensure that all manufacturing operations and processes are carried out effectively and meet the company's high standards of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation.
- Instil shop floor and HR disciplines including, time and attendance, sickness, absenteeism, training & development and disciplinary & grievance procedures ensuring these are correctly managed and controlled through the ongoing development of workshop supervisors.
- Maintain, develop and continuously improve manufacturing capability and quality standards that will deliver against exacting targets that meet the requirements of customers and the company's Quality Management System.
- Develop and create a high performance team based culture based on ownership and involvement, that is underpinned by the appropriate use of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Provide leadership, training and support to ensure that production capability and resources can achieve present and predicted future production requirements.
To apply for this Production Manager position, you must be results-oriented with demonstrable leadership experience that will deliver productivity improvement and bottom line results
You will also require the following:
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills gained within a modern MRP/ERP, low volume bespoke, ISO9001 / 14001 manufacturing environment.
- An ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with proven problem solving skills and abilities.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Significant production planning and people management experience with strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality control and HSE compliance.
