Are you a talented graduate with a passion for automotive innovation? We are seeking a Graduate Project Engineer to join our dynamic Advanced Engineering team. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and launching new products that meet the highest standards of cost, quality, and time.

What You Get to Do

  • Product Development: Assist in the design and development of new products, ensuring they meet customer and plant expectations.
  • Project Coordination: Manage Bill of Materials (BOMs), DFMEAs, and APQP elements.
  • Customer Support: Assist customers with materials, mechanical design, GD&T, and fixing methods.
  • Validation and Launch: Coordinate DVP&R and other product validation requirements to support the product launch.

Skills Helpful for the Role

  • Educational Background: Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience or internships in OEM/Tier 1/Tier 2 Automotive Industry.
  • Project Management: Ability to assist in delivering projects under tight deadlines and manage pre-production builds.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Interior Trim Experience: Experience or coursework in Interior Trim, Console Trim, IP Trim, Door Trim.
  • Mechanical Design: Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and automotive NPI, APQP, and manufacturing processes.

  • Collaboration: Work effectively with teams to deliver projects from RFQ to Job 1+90.

Other Factors

  • Work Location: Primarily based at the Kettering site with frequent visits to the Coventry facility and occasional travel to suppliers and customers.
  • Departmental KPIs: Adherence to programme timelines and budgets, progress of PDLS deliverables, accuracy of BOMs, APQP elements, and customer approvals.
