Sales Manager - Automation

Salary: Competitive

Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire

This innovative industry leading SME manufactures precision automated equipment used by many of the world's leading technology companies. With global sales into all the major industrial economies they provide solutions to a diverse range of technology sectors. Due to worldwide demand for their machines they are now seeking an experienced Sales Manager who will report to the Sales Director and work closely with the Managing Director to deliver growth and further expand market share worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical sales and business development of advanced automation or precision machining or capital equipment serving high technology industries and clients.

As Sales Manager, you can expect to:

  • Develop and deliver sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals targeting some of the world's most well-known technology brands.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify key growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscapes within advanced technology sectors.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients on a global basis, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to drive customer satisfaction and retention, especially among prominent brands.
  • Implement robust sales tracking systems and processes to monitor performance metrics, analyse sales data, and generate regular reports for senior management, with a particular emphasis on measuring success with respect to engagement with top-tier brands.

To apply for this role, you will need to have a good background in technical sales and business development, with an ability to build long term business relationships, but also be capable of responding to urgent enquiries with new and existing clients.

You will also require:

  • Engineering / Technical / Commercial qualifications to HNC level or above or a relevant business advanced degree is preferred
  • Proven history of success covering international technical sales, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales management role supplying capital equipment into advanced technology industries that could include, semiconductor, defence, medical, space, optics, robotics or communications.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
  • Based in Leicestershire the role requires frequent travel to customer sites, headquarters, and other company locations as required. The role comes with a competitive salary commensurate with experience and track record of success.
