Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a full-time Buyer, and the role comes with a salary of circa  £32k and excellent benefits, including ongoing CIPS training towards qualification. As this is a manufacturing plant, the role is on-site in the first instance.

As Buyer, you will support the delivery and performance of the Site Operational team by delivering a high standard of purchasing and supply chain administration. Spend will be across indirect and direct categories, including metals, rubbers and plastic components. 

To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

• Raise and expedite purchase orders in accordance with business needs, purchasing procedures and ethical policy
• Ensure that anything purchased is supported by a correctly completed and authorised requisition and purchase order, to facilitate accurate and timely purchase and accounts data, whilst providing an audit trail
• Ensure all purchased stock information and records are maintained to facilitate the efficient and economical supply of materials to both production and non-production departments
• Ensure the MRP purchasing demand is maintained daily.

To apply for this purchasing role, you will need to be familiar with ERP, MRP systems and supply sourcing knowledge. You will also require purchasing and stock control experience and an understanding of modern engineering and manufacturing processes. In addition, you will have purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment  and hands-on experience in ERP systems. It would be beneficial, if you had a CIPS qualification.
