Chassis Cost Reduction Design Engineer - JP764 - £25.96/hr PAYE 

Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and collaborative Chassis Cost Reduction Design Engineer to join our client's inclusive and friendly team. This full-time design engineering role is based in Cranfield and offers a favourable rate of £25.96 per hour PAYE and the opportunity to be part of a positive and diverse workplace culture.

As a Chassis Cost Reduction Design Engineer, you will direct the suspension subframe, link the team's cost reduction ideas progression and report to management. You will also develop chassis systems and components to meet component, system, and vehicle targets to cost, quality and time.

In your first few weeks in this Chassis Cost Reduction Design Engineer role, you can expect to:

• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities to achieve departmental targets
• Plan and track the team's achievement vs Cost reduction targets, report to management
• Conduct design reviews for responsible components at appropriate milestone timings and achieve score card requirements
• Maintain engineering release according to Vehicle Specification requirements/changes
• Report development status to various levels of company.

To apply for this Chassis Cost Reduction Design Engineer role, you will need a degree or HND qualified in the relevant discipline and a full UK/EU driving license. You will also require the following:

• Ability to work autonomously, manage suppliers and report status to management
• Problem-solving skills using logical process (Problem Analysis, FTA)
• Good English written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel globally when required (role may require travel to other Renault/ sites, suppliers, & test facilities)
